We were surprised with dozens of pelicans descended on Canyon Lake early in 2021. They stayed here for about two months, then disappeared back to wherever they came from.  They are so cool to watch float in the lake for fly inches above the water!!  They liked to congregate on Skipper's Island (near the Happy Camp campground).  When the pelicans left the lake for parts unknown, our beautiful cranes reappeared.  We have no clue where they had gone for several months.

Enjoy!
